Summit Success: Media Highlights from Prince George's Cannabis Event

Mayor of Prince George Welcomes BC Craft Cannabis Summit Delegates

His Worship, Simon Yu, the Mayor of Prince George, attended the BC Craft Cannabis Summit Saturday. In addition to thanking the BC Craft Farmers Co-Op for choosing to host their annual Summit in Prince George, Mayor Yu dropped in on BC’s first legally approved downtown cannabis street party.
Earlier this month, the City of Prince George approved the closure of a downtown street for a special 4/20/2024 celebration. In January, Prince George approved a significant fee reduction for cannabis retailers.
BCCFC President Tara Kirkpatrick thanked the Mayor for his leadership. She also recognized city staff and Prince George Tourism for their active support in planning the 2024 Summit.
Provincial and Federal Officials Discuss Support Opportunities for Craft Cannabis Farmers, Processors, and Independent Retailers in Northern BC
Government representatives from Work BC and federal Community Futures Development met with cannabis industry employers Saturday at the 2024 BC Craft Farmers Summit in Prince George.
In addition to business loans and employment support programs, officials expressed an interest in developing new partnerships with cannabis businesses in the region.
Representatives from Brownridge Insurance and Community Savings Credit Union also participated in the roundtable session with government officials.
